"Government Ditch on Caddo Lake", Print Only
Only Prints Available–Original has been sold. Sizes: 8x10, 11x14, 13x19
This painting captures the essence of a relaxing boat ride through Louisiana (and Texas) waterways. Government Ditch is within Caddo Lake. The lake, named for the Caddo Indians, is one of the largest natural lakes in the South. According to Caddo legend, the lake was formed by an earthquake caused by a Caddo chief's failure to obey the Great Spirit. The more prosaic explanation of the lake's origin is that it was formed behind a log jam in the Red River. It is home to a vast range of wildlife. The unabashed ecosystem coupled with a sense of serenity is a source of inspiration for many creatives, outdoorsmen, and wildlife enthusiasts.
